Marija Jovanovic, a law graduate from Kragujevac will be the first Chevening –EFT scholar from Serbia. Marija is departing for the UK in October, where she will commence her postgraduate law studies at the Linacre College, Oxford University. 

“It is a real privilege and an honour to be able to commence my postgraduate studies at such a prestigious University. This scholarship has given me an opportunity to live and study in an inspirational environment and to develop my career in the best possible way”, said Ms. Jovanovic. 

At Linacre, Marija, who has been devoted to the field of Criminal Law while working as an assistant at the University of Kragujevac, Law Faculty, will read a Magister Juris (M. Jur) postgraduate course at the Faculty of Law, with special emphasis on Ciminal Justice Systems, International Human Rights issues and EU Law. 

Upon completion of her studies in the UK, she is expected to return to her post at the University of Kragujevac.
